Healthy Start


What is Healthy Start?
Healthy Start Communities that C.A.R.E. (HSCC) is a nation-wide program, funded through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to reduce infant and maternal mortality rates, eliminating disparities in perinatal health. HSCC provides case management/care coordination to eligible participants specific to access, referrals/resources, and education to empower women, and their partners, to improve health outcomes and promote a healthy pregnancy and successful birth outcome for both mom and baby.
Who qualifies?
All women of reproductive age, residing in Greene County, that are planning a pregnancy, currently pregnant, post-partum, or in the interconception phase (the time between pregnancies). This program also supports infants up to 18 months of age and fathers/ partners, associated with the enrolled mother.

Nikki Page, BSN, RN, IBCLC
Perinatal Navigator
Nikki Page, BSN, RN, IBCLC is a Registered Nurse, International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, and Perinatal Navigator through the Healthy Start Communities that C.A.R.E. Program for Greene County. Nikki works with families to assist them in having a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby, providing resources, referrals, education and lactation support. During her free time, she enjoys gardening and going on vacations with her family.

Bridgett Edwards
OB Navigator / Community Health Worker
Bridgett Edwards is a Community Health Worker through the Healthy Start Communities that C.A.R.E. program. She is also Greene County’s OB Navigator, and is the primary contact for scheduling appointments and providing resources to our OB/GYN patients. Bridgett has an Associates of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and graduated with honors. Bridgett comes from the early childhood community where she has been helping young children and families in our community for many years.

Peyton Goodwin, LCSW, PMH-C
Perinatal Social Worker
Peyton Goodwin, LCSW, is a Perinatal Social Worker through the Healthy Start Communities that C.A.R.E Program. She obtained her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in social work through Indiana State University. Peyton is a licensed clinical social worker and certified in perinatal mental health. Peyton has a passion for helping those with mental health needs and ending the negative views around mental health. During her free time, she enjoys being outdoors and gardening.
