Greene County General Hospital Patient Services
Critical Access Hospital - On 2/1/03, the Greene County General Hospital was designated by CMS and the Indiana State Department of Health to become a "Critical Access Hospital". This status should assist the hospital in pursuing it's mission and continue to grow and provide up-to-date technology, the best qualified employees and new services to the community.
The Hospital has implemented "Medical Necessity" policies for outpatient testing as required by Medicare regulations. This will require proper codes be given by the physicians in order to justify the test or the patient will be required to sign an Advanced Beneficiary Notice order to receive the test.
CPSI Information System - This system will allow each department to enter its own information and be able to provide the doctor with a report on a patient right away. Saving time and being more efficient will allow more time to be spent on the patient's well being.
The integrated system works with a team effort. The team works together for better patient care.
The Greene County General Hospital has converted all patient rooms to private rooms in order to assure patient confidentiality and family member convenience.
The Greene County Hospital and Greene County Home health Care Agency are assisting in efforts to sponsor Smoking Cessation Classes for area residents. For more information about the Healthy Families Program, call 812/847-9496.
The Hospital created a "Wall of Fame" with photos of men and women from the area with relatives employed at the hospital serving the war effort.
The display is located downstairs next to the conference room.
